I can only fathom how hard must have been the peer review, and thus I wonder if it was an open peer review that could be shared and let us take a look on how the peers reacted. That would be a great insight to have on hand. My own experience with the peer review process, in a completely mainstream topic, tells me this must be an important document and must have been a great challenge.
It certainly was, but with the strength of Bin's team aligned with my own understanding and the ready help of Dr. Parkhomov it was easy. It isn't the paper we would have chosen to get through, but it opened the door.
Additionally, I think it helped that Bin was such a highly published and cited lead author.

In essence we had to state that the proposed reactions were informed speculation and that others may be possible, including adding eq. (7) from one of the reviewers, which was much more unlikely than ours from Dr. Parkhomov's theory - however, in thinking about it, it may become possible with the fields and phase singularities in fractal toroidal superconducting current structures, since they can force the reactants (p, e- and 16O) into a coherent state in an extreme small point. In the end, with the revisions made to the text both the reviewers and myself gave it our blessing.
