What did Martin Fleischmann know? UPDATE#1 - Answering a question
Shocking soundbites from 1998
Last night I managed to jerry-rig up an old PC and an internal DVD ROM I had laying in a dusty place.
I had a reason, I wanted to be able to extract a presentation by Martin Fleischmann from ICCF-7, recorded on April 23, 1998, in Vancouver, Canada. It was provided to me spread across two DVDs by Jeane Manning, so big thanks to her!
After that, it took half a day to find a way to get the video and audio out of the VOBs and into a format I can pass on to everyone. When I started reviewing that video, I was quite shocked at what Martin had to say. I will be sharing a series of clips from that video in this blog and then the full video when I have had time to clean it up, audio and data loss-wise.
One of the most significant things that I saw him say was that he knew there was something that would effectively connect classical mechanics with quantum field theory and that this was critical to so-called “Cold Fusion”.
Here is the first clip and the associated transcript is below.
“So I think we are at a very interesting watershed.
I hope you probably agree that we can see easy ways to implement the research, difficult ways to implement the research. Well of course this is not the end of the story.
Let me just close the loop. There are all sorts of other phenomena which we really can only interpret in terms of quantum field theory and then there is this enormous question of:
if we think about condensed matter physics and chemistry, biology, even in terms of quantum field theory, then is there a link between classical mechanics and quantum field theory? I’ve been waiting very patiently for someone to speak about that, because I know the information about parts of the subject exists, but I observe that people are extremely reluctant to say anything about this at all.
Thank you.”
- Martin Fleischmann’s ICCF-7 presentation, April 23, 1998
Martin is suggesting that there are people that know, or have a good idea of what connects these two areas of research.
I would argue that the fractal MagnetoHydroDynamic (fMHD) structures we have observed in a wide range of experiments, with their fractal Toroidal Toments (fTM) enable the link between classical mechanics and quantum field theory.
Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is considered a branch of classical mechanics. It integrates classical fluid dynamics (governed by the Navier-Stokes equations) with classical electromagnetism (via Maxwell’s equations and the Lorentz force). It treats conducting fluids as continua without invoking quantum or relativistic effects in its standard formulation, aligning with the principles of classical physics. Even though MHD is often applied in contexts like plasma physics or astrophysics, its foundational framework remains classical. - GROK
Quantum Field Theory (QFT), firstly unites quantum mechanics with special relativity, addressing high-speed particle behaviours. Second, it accounts for particle creation and annihilation in high-energy processes like collisions. Third, QFT underpins the Standard Model, describing fundamental particles and forces. Fourth, it offers extraordinary predictive precision, matching experiments to many decimal places. It is applicable to everything from condensed matter physics to cosmology and is helping us understand the universe. - GROK
In this second clip, you see him responding to quite a bit of pressure, from a young Francesco Celani, to be more open about what is important to make the process work.
Now we are at a watershed and there are some people who have a sort of connection with funding agencies present in this room. I think the re-jigging of the Bohm-Aharonov Effect is long overdue. I think that it’s going to prove to be one of the most fruitful areas of research of the next century.
- Martin Fleischmann’s response under pressure from
Francesco Celani to be more open during Q&A, April 23, 1998
It is striking to see Martin Fleischmann state that the Bohm-Aharonov Effect would be one of the most fruitful areas of research in the field of ‘cold fusion’ this century. I did not know this until I looked at this presentation today.
I started this blog focusing on this very Effect.
Martin Fleischmann appears to also be making a sideways comment towards the funding agencies which, to the best of my knowledge, were at this time the DOE/US military and, more specifically, in my best guess, the US Navy. Did they know?
We know from the 1980s presidential declaration on nuclear technology, that magnetohydrodynamics is the Sigma-1 secret of nuclear weapons. As you are aware, I believe that the phase singularities of the fractal magnetohydrodynamic structures we have observed, are able to produce the Aharonov-Bohm Effect as per the calculations of Afanasiev and Dubovik. Moreover, this electrodynamic structure and its properties enable Coherent Energy Transformations.
I wish Martin Fleischmann were alive to see this day. I am not afraid to talk about what I believe connects classical mechanics to quantum field theory. I feel myself fortunate that I was never part of any military research programme or had signed any related non-disclosure agreements.
Born before the Second World War and living through the Cold War, if he knew something, Martin understandably had to be guarded, given his history and his time. That said, I have new found respect for this brilliant electrochemist today. He either knew that this was the way forward or he had come to realise it would be.

UPDATE#1 - Answering a question
A very senior and respected researcher asked me for some detail on the connections I was suggesting in this blog and so I gave the following answer. I am copying it here for openness.
Dear Xxxxx,
I have explained this in all my recent lectures, but the key references I gave in my Strasbourg presentation
People normally only think of MHD in terms of a vortex soliton. This was the mistake that was made by Lord Kelvin. When you only have a standard vortex soliton, the stability collapses relatively quickly.
Virial stability increases as orthogonal fractality builds. Minimally, you need a wheel within a wheel within a wheel structure. This enables the electrodynamics to produce a non-radiating boundary without having to have an oscillating electric and magnetic structure, as in Zeldovich’s anapole. I focused on the coherence phenomena reported by several authors and its relation to a monopole-like structure in my 2021 presentation in Assisi, Italy.
I spoke about the toroidal moment in my 2022 presentation in Assisi, Italy. In this presentation, I showed a mainstream Physical Review B paper with the structure that I predicted would be found in cavitation-based coherent energy transformation systems.
The fractal toroidal moment structure that I predicted was later found in multiple reactor cores analysed by myself, that were produced by Professor Bin-Juine Huang.
The elements synthesised in these structures are those found by many authors in the field. Because of the amount of material that comes out of these structures, the originating matter has to be in a coherent (likely fully ionised) state in the core. Since you know the possible elements that go in (for instance, in the case of Huang, hydrogen, oxygen, and copper), there has to be some Electro-nuclear collapse and regeneration as observed by Dr. Takaaki Matsumoto in the cores.
The coherence is caused by the topological monopole, which is a Dirac-compliant topological monopole. Bogdanovich et al. at the Moscow Nuclear Physics Institute cite Vishnevsky’s 2008 paper. In that paper, Vishnevsky states that superconductivity also is a result of this topological monopole being produced. The topological monopole enforces coherence in even fermions like electrons at any initial temperature by way of the Aharonov-Bohm effect that has previously been calculated as present in these fractal electrodynamic structures by Dubovik and Afanasiev, as given in the reference that I gave in Strasbourg. The matter collapse comes from the increasing magnetic core strengths and coherent wavelets trapped in each of the cores and sub-cores. When the electrodynamic structure, that causes the phase singularity, confinement, and coherence, fails, the matter waves re-emerge into the ordinary vacuum energy state via a wormhole, as stated by Matsumoto and observed by us, whereupon it collapses and is reborn, regenerating into new nuclei based on wavelet interference density typical of stellar synthesis, assuming the matter wave density in the coherent core is not too high. In S.V. Adamenko’s book, Controlled Nucleus Synthesis, he says that if the electron cloud/nucleus/nucleon macro-cluster gets too dense in the core, the process will rapidly go beyond iron to produce very heavy elements.
In brief, in any charge-separated or ionic material that undergoes extreme multi-axis hydrodynamic shear, fractal magnetohydrodynamic structures will be produced that can subsequently, be additionally injected with helicity to produce fractal-toroidal moments. At the core of these fractal-toroidal moments, matter is drawn in and cohered into matter wavelets that ultimately unify the forces (within the structure’s different space-time metrics) and allow for matter wave interference and matter collapse. This is achieved by way of the inherent Aharonov-Bohm effect that results from these fractal magneto-hydrodynamic structures. Any ‘energy’ potential produced by reducing the distortion in the physical vacuum in the process, is 1. shared amongst all of the matter wavelets in the phase singularity cores and 2. maintains the virial stability of the oval structure. For some reason, these structures seem to last for around two days without further helicity injection. This may just be hysteresis in their virial stability. That is to say, when spun up, they can gather enough matter into their cores to sustain their stability for up to two days. They need to spin to feed and feed to spin. If they don’t get food or spin, they die.
Not over driving these little machines for too long and too hard is a good thing. They should be initiated, built, and then broken. Rinse, repeat. You might like to think of it as using the binding energy release to wind up a spring, and then that spring releases that energy upon confinement field collapse. The energy is shared between every single emergent particle and regenerated nuclei.
This way you can remediate nuclear waste extremely efficiently and synthesise new elements, particularly those that are good for supporting biology, for instance for feeding soil. For me, this will be a tool that will not only get us to new worlds but allow us to create the nutrients necessary for farming on exoplanets, potentially Mars initially. I talk about this with reference to the Huang data recently.
There is no need for the layman to have mathematics to know, all they need do is look at the material analysis of the cores of Huang reactors done in the flux capacitor video. In the video, [Magnetic] “Flux Capacitor” structures that are the resultant forms produced from fractal-toroidal moments are the actors capturing matter, condensing it beyond the internal possible volume, and ejecting it as new synthesised elements. That the maths have already been done in the past to explain this is helpful. In the near future, the maths relating to the specific case analysis will be done.
Kind regards
Bob

Nice and now we all need to make the language simple, so I child can understand. Then we really know what we are talking about. Nature is not complicated and so is this. Love ( with L) is simple, not complicated and nature drives on it. Yes, I know but I’m not talking about fluffy snowflake love, but the real natural one. All we see outside of us, we have it all inside of us. My bet is that we will come to learn also that our body can do fusion. There are examples enough of people not eating like they should because of not that much variety of nutrients, but they look znd are very healthy. Body has a way to create a balance even when there is not a good variety of food around. Like I see it, nature works with Natural Laws and I see fMHD, ftm, mhd, etc as degrees of attraction and repulsion from a mid-point. Nature works with 7 degrees and 1 degree has 7 transitions. 7x7=49. Earth has also 7 degrees of atmosphere and so on. Also the basic equation of nature which you can use to explain all micro and macro, are the 3 Laws where all life is based on and works with. It’s: M+F=R (e). This is how simple She is 🙂
Such a nice new piece of information. He knew and THEY also knew that he knew. It's ridiculous how much time we lose not getting this breakthrough out. My kids could be flying into another stars if only..... thanks
