Many of you have asked for a glossary of common terms I and the community use. Things have got real urgent since I understand there will be 6 or so Czech participants in next weeks BRNO “Advanced Energy Systems” meeting that I and Paul Harris will be hosting and a company will be hired to provide realtime translation. Of course they are more nervous than you guys, as they will be newcomers translating for newcomers.
So if you have a term that you don’t understand or you think is difficult for a newcomer, then please offer it in the comments, ideally with your best understanding attached and any references. Examples like:-
Toroidal Moment - is a term in the multipole expansion of electromagnetic fields, distinct from the traditional electric and magnetic multipoles. It describes a specific configuration of currents or charges that form a toroidal (doughnut-shaped) structure. In simpler terms, imagine a solenoid (a coil of wire) bent into a torus. The current flowing through this toroidal solenoid creates a magnetic field with unique properties, different from those created by standard electric or magnetic dipoles.
Transmutation - A process where one chemical element or isotope is converted into another
Exotic Vacuum Object - Ken Shoulders' Exotic Vacuum Object (EVO) is a concept referring to highly organized clusters of electrons, often described as micron-sized entities with soliton behaviour. These clusters can contain electron populations on the order of Avogadro's number. EVOs are notable for their ability to interact with solid materials in a way that causes atomic disruption without conventional heating, suggesting a form of low-energy phase transformation
Coherent Matter - Refers to a state of matter where particles exhibit a high degree of coherence, meaning their wave functions are synchronised in phase and amplitude. This coherence can lead to unique quantum phenomena, such as superfluidity and superconductivity
Condensate - (including Bose-Einstein) a form of coherent matter.
Phase Singularity - The vortex point around which the phase of a condensate's wave function winds.
LENR - Low Energy Nuclear Reactions
Ball Lightning / Thunderbolt - A traditionally poorly understood natural phenomenon characterised by a glowing, spherical objects that can vary in size from a few centimetres to several meters in diameter. It has been considered by some researchers such as Ken Shoulders, that all spark discharges and lightning are lead by a micro-ball lightning.
I will add some of your entries to the list.
Thank you for helping me help our community to grow.
Thank you for contributions to the glossary so far, if you can add per comment a word and your best understanding, ideally with references.
BOOM! - An event where various correlations, data points, observations, and/or synchronicities converge, elevating an idea from mere speculation to a state of high probability, allowing for hypothetical conclusions that can serve as a foundation for further research and investigation.
