I was asked to be a guest presenter and to offer thoughts on research in the field. There was no compensation for doing this, it just took my time to prepare and participate.
There was no discussion beforehand of non-disclosure and I would not have participated if there was. I understood this was an open research effort.
As they had said the meeting was to be recorded and all participants agreed, I took it that I would be able to have/make a full recording as well. I like it this way as I can answer any and all questions and give of myself wholeheartedly without thinking anyone would try to capitalise on my contribution. I reserve the right to share any and all things I participate in where the other parties are recording the proceedings.
I subsequently published my recording as I had no indication when their recording would be made public. A little while after they requested I take it off-line and replace it with the censored version above. That is rather hard as there are many individuals and even automated systems that clone and preserve MFMP YT videos posted.
This is the first time that any individual or group has asked me or the MFMP to censor a video that that party has a full recording of. Since I have no way to ensure they only keep the censored version and no way of ensuring they do not try to capitalise on the ideas and information I shared with them, this is an unfortunate asymmetry that cannot be resolved.
All that can be done is that I lower the profile of the full version which had already been viewed over 2300 times and that they and many others already have, and make it easy for all to access the censored version above. This is the purpose of this post.
I have had a prominent channel not publish an interview where I shared valuable insights with the intention it would be public. I had no recording of that to demonstrate this fact. This was a learning event.
I have also suffered a prominent channel putting a negative slight on my interaction with them by them choosing to exclude a critical and foundational part of the interview with them painting the resulting viewer confusion as due to my character.
In future I will need to ensure that any and all asymmetry of portrayal or use is impossible.
