Patricia 2001 - Major feature improvements since 6 July 2026

Cylinder tool v2 - diameter gauge locked orthogonal to and symmetric about the centre-line (drag either handle to set radius, a square slides it along the axis), a kink-free centripetal Catmull-Rom axis spline with true offset walls (no more self-intersections on tight bends), and per-node tangent handles to steer the curve. Recorded data measures bit-identically; CSV schema untouched.
True ellipse - the Circle’s two diameter handles now act as the major axis (drag to rotate + resize) with a teal compression handle that squashes the minor axis. Labels show major × minor plus ellipse area/perimeter/volume; stored as minorRatio (1 = plain circle, fully backward-compatible).
Point callouts - a point recorded “as callout” pins its name as an always-visible on-image label, independent of the Markers toggle.
Polygon integrity - rotating or scaling a regular polygon keeps it a clean N-gon when the node count later changes (genuine vertex edits still resample).

Wand ink annotation - a freehand stroke becomes a named, persistent on-image mark: open strokes render as a measured polyline (length), closed loops as a region (area). New ink measurement type end-to-end; nodes hidden by default, revealed by the ◌ toggle for correction.
Shared ✦ Select / ✎ Ink controls - both apps present a consistent
[✦ Select | ✎ Ink | ◌] row with a matched colour palette;
inapplicable sliders and Boolean modes grey out in ink mode.
Touch wand gestures (tablet) - one tap on the wand opens straight in Select; with Select on, tap = flood-fill, drag = lasso; New/＋Add/−Sub re-arm Select so you can keep selecting without re-tapping.

Class colouring - assignable per-class colours plus a Status ↔ Class marker “colour-by” toggle.
Live overlay toggles - each Filters checkbox now controls both the on-screen overlay and its inclusion in a capture (Scale bar / X·Y·Zoom · FOV / Annotations / Measurement / Description ).
Review mode - hides the editing furniture (vertices, rotate/scale, cylinder tangents + gauge) on the active shape while keeping the outline + label; body-drag and label-drag still work. The ◌ toggle can still reveal an ink/wand shape’s nodes for editing even in Review mode.
Classifier “view moved since analysis” warning - flags when the pixel-classification map no longer aligns with the current view.

Time sequences - a floating touch frame bar (prev/slider/next/play), per-frame ⊹ Align (nudge pad + copyable align JSON) and ⇄ Compare (swipe/fade vs an adjacent frame); the camera stays on the same region through time.
COL as main image - make the colour image the primary tile source, with all coordinates remapped through the registration affine (scale bar stays physically correct; analyses force SEM).
Anisotropic local calibration - calibrate different X and Y scales from two reference lines.
Pinch-zoom/pan while drawing, and a filter-aware live 👁 in-view count.

Tablet dock redesign - desktop-style split panes (fixed header/footer, scrolling list), uniform 40 px controls, and active-row centring/highlight when stepping or recalling.
