We still do not understand the emissions from these tubes so please everyone working with them assume that it could be damaging to health and do not spend time near these tubes when they are energized until the emissions are proven safe. Some anomalous findings that do not seem to fully fit one theory so it could be that they are producing multiple radiations simultaneously. Yes, more safety is needed. Low Energy X-Rays don't have the penetrative power to produce images, this normally requires 40-70keV these energies are normally produced by high energy breaking radiation in a dense metal target like Tungsten and cannot be produced by characteristic x-rays of normal elements. Moreover there is no heavy target electrode in the tubes and beta particles would be stopped by the glass and gas/air.
It is known that Energy Solitons/EVOs cannae neutral and travel long distances. They are trapped in phosphorous (like the image screens used in the above experiments) or scintillation crystals (like those used in the RadiaCode used by David Boutilier) they then dishevel and release vast numbers (up to 10^11) of electrons at up to 10keV. These properties allow for penetration and imaging, but it should be noted that 10keV is still damaging.
The data observed and initial remediation experiments is consistent with Energy Solitons/EVOs.
Bob, i have odd results at 15 feet away with a 1” thick lead cave however. Full enclosure keeps the radiacode out of alarm however with the open end of the cave facing AWAY from the tube the radiacode goes into alarm. The radiacode was wrapped in a copper mesh (100mesh) pouch for EMI shielding inside the cave as well. The apparatus was setup outside away from any metal or other objects and elevated off the ground to eliminate xray backscatter. To scatter off the air it would have tobe wayyyy to intense gamma so that does not seem possible as we are all still alive.
